The Commission requested the Chairman of the Sub Commission at its forty ninth session to report to the Commission at its fifty fourth session on significant aspects of the work of the Sub Commission.

Each member of the Committee researched one of these four areas.

Out of 100 municipal committees, 4 presidents are women (4 ).

8. At its forty eighth session, the General Assembly decided, on the recommendation of the Special Political and Decolonization Committee (Fourth Committee), to increase the membership of the Committee on Information from 81 to 83 members, and appointed Gabon and Israel members of the Committee.

Consequently, since the forty eighth session, the work programme of the Fourth Committee combines the agendas of those two Committees.

Four members of the Committee appended a dissenting individual opinion to the Committee s Views.

The fourteenth session was attended by representatives of States members of the Commission.

Executive authority is vested in a Council, which is composed of the Governor, four ex officio members, the Chief Minister and four elected members, and which assists the Governor in an advisory capacity.

At its thirty ninth session, the General Assembly appointed two new members of the Committee, namely China and Mexico at its forty first session, the Assembly appointed Malta as a new member of the Committee at its forty third session, the Assembly appointed Hungary, Ireland and Zimbabwe members of the Committee and at its forty fourth session, the Assembly appointed Nepal a member of the Committee.

Four more States have now done so.

For all of their differences, the four commissions shared similar features.

Zhang Dejiang, president of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, attended the 4th National Constitution Day Symposium and delivered a speech on the 4th.
