Secondary basic and secondary vocational education

Basic education comprises three levels pre school, primary and secondary.

Colombia apos s formal education system consists of preschool, basic primary, basic secondary and occupational secondary, and higher education, which is divided into technical, technological and university (undergraduate and postgraduate).

Basic Primary Education

As stated in the General Education Act, there are three types of education basic, upper secondary and higher.

Basic education in many countries encompasses the early years of secondary education as well.

Basic education services, as well as federalized upper secondary and vocational education, have been added to the services catering for the same levels previously existing in the states themselves.

Among the fundamental principles of the State education policy are the compulsory nature of general basic education, the universal accessibility of general secondary education and beginning occupational training, and the receipt of subsequent levels of education on a competitive basis.

In the field of arts education, it has a system of 29 schools ranging from basic to higher education.

The secondary level has four grades of compulsory basic education (sixth to ninth) and two grades of secondary education (tenth and eleventh).

Girls account for about 50 per cent of pupils in basic primary education, although there have not been any great variations in comparison with previous years in secondary basic and vocational education the proportion of female enrolment was 52.9 per cent in 1993 as against 49.2 per cent at the beginning of the decade and women account for almost 52 per cent of students in higher education.

368. Admission to secondary education is subject to a national examination at the end of the second cycle of basic education (ninth year).

Adult education is designed for persons aged 15 and over who have not followed or completed a course of basic education and includes literacy training, primary and secondary education and vocational training.

Compulsory, free primary education for all children on an equal footing.

One may also receive an education in State education facilities within the framework of State education standards on a competitive basis, as well as free secondary vocational training, a higher vocational education, and postgraduate vocational training if the given level of education is being obtained for the first time.

As noted in the initial report, Kazakhstan has created the conditions for implementing the rights of citizens to free general secondary education and beginning vocational training and, on a competitive basis, secondary vocational training and higher education.
