The increase relates primarily to the New York liaison office of UN Habitat, namely its share of centrally provided data processing infrastructure services costs, including those of storage area networks, application servers, departmental servers, backup units and desktop connectivity.

43. OIOS also noted that the Geneva plan, which is administered directly by the United Nations Office at Geneva and, like Van Breda, which applies a 14 per cent fee rate, processes claims originating from more than a hundred countries, incurred, in 1997, administrative costs which represented only 0.7 per cent of the claims.

However, the 1999 cost estimates include the amount of 776,700 under non recurrent costs for data processing equipment and transport operations.
