The attainment of the 2015 goals set for development would require a large ad hoc increase in ODA.

The appropriate amount of debt reduction should be measured against the explicit development objectives defined by the NEPAD process.

It was unfortunate that, at a time when agreement had been reached on a programmatic basis for development cooperation that could enhance the effectiveness of assistance, ODA flows were declining.

Some entities, for example the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), noted the need for monitoring on a regular basis and for indicators to measure progress in implementing activities.

We must improve the flow and quality of official development assistance (ODA), including the early attainment of the agreed target of 0.7 per cent of gross national product for ODA.

FDI flows in services between developing countries are growing faster than flows between developed and developing countries.

And we think that this is a field that is moving incredibly fast, and holds a lot in store for the future.

On average, the energy used by a person in developed countries is about nine times that in developing countries.

The developed countries should increase the quantity and quality of ODA flows to the least developed countries and support their national development strategies and programmes.
