Protection of moral and material interests In Latvia the protection of the copyright and neighbouring rights is provided by the Law On Copyright, enacted on 6 April 2000 which replaced of the Law of 11 May 1993 On Copyright and Neighbouring Rights.

Over the recent years the state has devoted an increasing effort to ensure effective protection of the copyright and neighbouring rights.
