UNDP provides quality assurance in evaluations by designing evaluation frameworks and plans in the context of the UNDAF and country programme action plans, while maintaining coverage and quality in the face of increasing demand.

The UNEP Manual on Project Design, Approval and Evaluation sets out the conditions relating to the submission of audit certificates.

The Initiative includes programmes with activities at different stages of development, implementation and evaluation. Several of these programmes, such as community based rehabilitation, substance abuse and medicinal plants are being implemented.

45. Monitoring and evaluation. Regional programmes will follow the UNDP basic principles of results oriented monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, developed by the Evaluation Office.

Each initiative would be followed by an evaluation.

All the regional programmes were drafted and carried out in conformance with State or sector programmes.

The Office also planned to revise the way in which the national policy was evaluated, by involving both the public and NGOs in the process.

35. Programme evaluation will remain within the framework of the prevailing UNDP evaluation procedures and instruments.

Management should have a clear plan for periodically evaluating its internal controls, reporting problems and correcting weakness.

It permits the preparation of detailed work plans, periodic progress reviews and self evaluation of programme implementation.

Three major assessment missions were carried out in the subregion, with the participation of the World Food Programme (WFP), UNDP and the European Community (EC).

4. The topics of in depth evaluations to be reviewed by the Committee in 2001, the final year of the current medium term plan, have yet to be determined.

The multiyear emancipation policy plan will be evaluated in 2005.

At UNDP, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), non governmental organizations increasingly take part not only in project formulation, but also in monitoring and evaluation.

We plan to launch this product in India in 2010, and the target price point will be 25 dollars, less than 0.1 percent of the cost of a traditional incubator.
