The Committee also noted that, once its mandate had been renewed by the Council, the next session of the United Nations Forum on Forests would be included in the calendar.

The Forum encourages organizers of pre sessional regional meetings of indigenous peoples to develop suggestions and recommendations for the Forum to consider and encourages its members to participate in such meetings.

Chapter VII Adoption of the report of the Forum on its fourth session

In cooperation with the Fourth World Water Forum and the Japan Water Forum, UNICEF is planning to organize the second Children's World Water Forum as a parallel event.

It will draw on the findings and recommendations of the regional meetings and the round tables and technical meetings.

The sessions of the Statistical Commission, a technical not a political forum, are not the proper place for a debate on these matters.

The high level ministerial segment of the Forum was held on 25 and 26 May 2005 (7th to 10th meetings of the Forum). The Forum had before it the following documents

At the same meeting, the Forum decided to annex the summary of the discussion to the report of the Forum (see annex I).

Other fora, including non traditional fora such as G8 summits and the World Economic Forum, will be assessed for their potential in this regard.

In accordance with the Forum's multi year programme of work, the second high level ministerial segment of the Forum will be held during its fifth session.

Provisional agenda for the sixth session of the United Nations Forum on Forests

The proposed organization of work of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues at its fourth session (see annex) has been prepared by the secretariat of the Forum following consultations with the Members of the Forum.

Her delegation commended the Permanent Forum for its working methods, its strong cooperation with other United Nations institutions and, in particular, the themes it had chosen for its sessions, especially the most recent one, which had been dedicated to indigenous women.

Although the biennial World Urban Forum is not an official United Nations conference, it was mandated by the UN Habitat Governing Council through its resolution 18 5, and is fundamental to the implementation of the Habitat Agenda at the international level.

At the same meeting, the Forum decided to annex the summary to the report of the fifth session of the Forum (see annex II).

5. The Conference was organized in three types of sessions plenary, forum and agora.

The Conference may, in addition, request that any substantive agenda item be dealt with in the Technical Forum.
