Worse, the very act of currency intervention can undermine the PBOC s control of monetary policy.

Financial institutions have also been advised to remain vigilant against any illicit financial transaction, which should be reported to the Royal Monetary Authority (RMA) for further investigation.

Indeed, certain types of capital flow management including limiting domestic debt denominated in foreign currency for both firms and households have been shown to increase resilience.

The Royal Monetary Authority has issued notice to the financial institutions to draw attention to Article 59 of the Financial Institutions Act, 1992 and report to the Royal Monetary Authority any illicit financial transaction related to individuals and entities contained in the List (please see point 2).
