The situation is similar in alternative institutions, where women make up only 25 of the senior academic staff.

The number of women among academic staff was stable in 2001 2004, which is illustrated by Table 10.2.

The highlight of this regulation is that it makes all academic staff obliged to report any sexual harassment to responsible agencies.

Women's under representation in academic staff, especially in senior ranks, has continued to draw attention since the submission of our previous report.

ACADEMIC SITUATION

In 2001, 24 of the senior academic staff financed by the Council for Higher Education were women, a rise from 20 in 1992 93.

Staff participated in panels organized by the diplomatic and academic communities on illicit trade in small arms, light weapons and building societal resistance to violence.

25. Regular informal substantive consultations are held between the Rector and the senior academic staff of the United Nations University and United Nations senior officials.

Academic support is aimed at developing and enhancing academic expertise in a specific treaty by providing assistance to academic institutions, particularly in developing countries.
