We had very useful and informative meetings in Germany, the Syrian Arab Republic and Turkey and with European Union institutions in Brussels.

That is no criticism of those who work often very hard in the European Parliament. We have created a political body that has power to hold European institutions to account but has no obvious European electorate to which it can itself be held accountable.

Anglo Saxon financial institutions are known for their high dividend payout ratios. From a European perspective, the hunger for dividends and the emphasis on short term performance goals that characterize these institutions is both amazing and frightening.

Political leaders are, of course, to blame for filing away these and other European ideas in the archives. But the blame must also be shared with the entire European political class, civil society institutions, and the media.

Certainly, coordination between the member states exists, and is even successful at times, but without strong European institutions, such singular successes will not last.

There was a marginal decline in the external debt owed to two multilateral institutions, the Caribbean Development Bank and the European Investment Bank.9

In developing its relations with European countries, Kyrgyzstan will, alongside efforts on the bilateral level, step up its activity in the field of multilateral diplomacy, taking advantage of the unique opportunity to participate in the work of the European institutions dealing with issues of security (including in the Central Asian region), economic cooperation and the development of democratic institutions.

They also committed themselves to achieving continued progress in fully integrating Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania into European and trans Atlantic institutions, including in supporting the preparations for integration with the European Union, NATO and the World Trade Organization.

The European Union and donor countries have committed significant financial resources and political support for the formation of the Transitional Federal Government and its institutions.
