Delayed repatriation of contingent personnel and retention of the military task force

Twelve of the 50 military staff officers who served with UNTMIH were repatriated in January 1998.

With regard to military personnel, the Advisory Committee noted that the standard practice was for military contingents to provide for their own logistic and support capacities.

UNMOT is an observer mission and does not have military contingents.

Our Government recently decided to increase the size of its military contingent in Haiti.

95. Assistance to demobilized military forces.

In some instances, contingents were deployed without a civil military coordination officer.

The increase in requirements is the result of the delayed repatriation of contingent personnel and the retention of a military task force of 955 personnel.

The reduced requirements are attributable to the reduction in troop strength and subsequent repatriation of all military contingents by December 2005.

The Unit trained 84 peer educators from UNOCI military contingents.

10. As can be seen from the table above, the deployment of military contingents is only at the level of 62 per cent.
