The group was updated on decisions adopted at the tenth session of the COP relevant to the LDCs and the LEG and on efforts towards coordination among the different expert groups in the UNFCCC intergovernmental process, namely the Consultative Group of Experts on National Communications from Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (CGE), the Expert Group on Technology Transfer (EGTT), and the LEG.

The group discussed the process of selecting venues for LEG meetings.

An expert group was set up in 2002 and consisted of experts from 14 Member States, 7 Candidate Countries and Norway.

The SBI encouraged the CGE to continue its collaboration with the Expert Group on Technology Transfer and the LEG in the implementation of its work programme.
