In other regions, although all the countries may be developing ones, some are clearly more advanced in certain respects than others.

A strong trend towards introducing ERAs in public procurement exists in a number of countries, including various countries in Asia, Central and Eastern Europe and some countries in Latin America.

It is a serious crime in some countries, but a tax deductible business expense in others.

At the national level, a number of countries initiated preparation of national action programmes, and designated national focal points.

Some have been more forthcoming than others in their response.

Supply demand ratios are expected to be positive for some countries under some climate scenarios and negative for others.

Available data on those countries debt profile2 (see table 2) indicate a degree of continued vulnerability in some of those countries.

Some State institutions are now less dependent on international experts.

In some, registration or licensing is mandatory, in others it is voluntary.

In some States the scope of the functions of such officials was quite broad while in others it was limited.

It was noted that some countries had established or were in the process of establishing space agencies and that some countries had national space committees while others functioned through ad hoc mechanisms. .

That process needs to occur in selected countries.

Some of these countries undoubtedly retain this capacity in others, that capacity may have eroded.

In some countries a full fledged inter agency group has been established, while in others a subgroup of existing coordination mechanisms has been created.

These developments are being introduced in several countries on a pilot basis.

In some countries, substantial peace initiatives undertaken in 2003 had aroused hope for a solution, but in other countries prospects were bleak.

In some developing countries telephone density was as low as 0.1 per cent, while in some developed countries it reached 60 per cent.

This has already shown results in several countries.

They are the U.S.A., other Western countries going across in those triangles and a few Gulf states in there actually.

The market was transnational, with companies registered in one country recruiting in another, and providing services in a host of States under contract to both States and non State actors.

Some Chinese firms have also taken steps to expand into developed countries.

In some States, those remittances constitute 65 per cent of all development assistance.

Unless this is achieved, the non proliferation regime would benefit some at the expense of others while excluding yet a third group which has not yet acceded to the Treaty.

These conversations really reflect what's happening at the national and international level.

That principle was usually applied in several States.

Efforts should be made to assist countries such as my own, which are still in the process of consolidating their economic gains.

In some countries, the programmes are developed at the subnational level because significant forest policy responsibilities have been decentralized.

Other Governments are stepping up.

In other countries such limitations may not exist.

And the blue former developing countries are mixing up with the former industrialized western world.

In some countries, this practice was applied usually and four countries noted that it was applied exceptionally.

In those States, the practice generally was mandatory.

In some countries, the purpose of these activities was to produce a NAP component' for the overall national development plan and related donor round table, while in other countries the activities were aimed at preparing for a consultative donor meeting focusing on NAP implementation.

Political events in a number of the least developed countries are also expected to influence progress in 2005.

That is not to deny that there has been progress in the achievement of some of the Goals in some countries.

In some of them, war or civil strife have prevented national elections from taking place.

Welcoming the formulation of direct programmes of poverty eradication by some developing countries at the national level,

The countries may not even be on the same continent.

The situation of human rights had improved in certain countries.

In some countries, Bretton Woods institutions missions involved or informed other entities of the United Nations system in others not.

We have gathered here to defend human rights in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and to prevent certain Powers from claiming that some countries have more rights or that some countries do not have the right to enjoy their legitimate rights.

A number of developing countries have also been extending grant assistance.

Some countries are further elaborating the political commitments made.

Some national experts hold the opinion that treatment demand is increasing in the region.
