Goal 2 Achieve Universal Primary Education

I have an interest in education actually, what I find is everybody has an interest in education.

Gender parity in access to and duration of education has also been achieved at all levels.

Regarding universal primary education, Viet Nam eliminated illiteracy and achieved universal primary education back in 2000 and at present universal junior secondary education exists in nearly half of the provinces in Viet Nam.

We are close to achieving universal primary education.

Governments are responsible for achieving, or enabling the achievement of, the goals and targets that have been set for education.

Viet Nam has basically acquired gender equality in primary education and is trying to accomplish universalization of lower secondary education.

The development of various initiatives aimed at equity and quality of education has helped improve primary school performance.

Education and work are the fundamental processes for the achievement of those goals.

Recognizing that education contributed to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals, Fiji had made primary education compulsory and was taking steps to make secondary, vocational and higher education accessible to all.

The Convention recognizes the right of the child to education, and primary education should be made compulsory and available free to all (art. 28).

The UNESCO Nairobi strategy is aimed at accelerating the attainment of Education for All goals by accelerating progress towards universal primary education.

The Education Inspectorate monitors schools' pursuit of these attainment targets.

UNICEF has placed increased emphasis on the fulfilment of article 29, the right to education, focusing on improving access to education for all.

We had proclaimed our aspiration to achieve by 2015 universal primary education.

The key to achieving effective social responsibility and functions in education lies in redefining the roles at all levels of authority and creating the capacities to promote the education legislation and, consequently, the education system.

The representative indicated that the Ministry of Education recently reminded local authorities of the need to intensify efforts to achieve inter cultural education in schools at all levels.
