A strengthened coordination function also requires a closer interaction between the Council and the Administrative Committee on Coordination, which should include in its reports to the Council action oriented recommendations to improve United Nations system wide coordination on issues for consideration by the Council

Subprogramme 28.1 Economic and Social Council support and coordination

28.6 The goal of the subprogramme, which is implemented by the Division for Economic and Social Council Support and Coordination, is to strengthen the policy management and coordinating roles of the Economic and Social Council as well as enable the Council to better fulfil its role in the macroeconomic policy coordination dialogue.

The Economic and Social Council would welcome broader dissemination of the report of ACC, which should be discussed and considered by the Council.

To that end, action is being coordinated among various Government agencies and civil society.

Accordingly, careful planning and coordination are required by the international community.

Based on article 130 of the same law and with the aim of harmonizing economic and social policy, i.e., workers and employers' interests, and encouraging of conclusion and application of collective contracts, the Economic Social Council can be formed.
