Parties included in Annex I to the Convention (Annex I Parties) were to submit their fourth national communications by 1 January 2006.

The ACIS Programme, already installed in 16 countries, provided advance information on cargoes and vehicles to consignees and transport operators.

Parties expressed their general satisfaction with the information and the information systems, databases and clearing houses provided by the secretariat.

National communications from Parties

Because Parties will be in the early stages of implementation of the Protocol, it is expected that this information will be preliminary.

As stated in paragraphs 39 40 above, a provision of 5.5 million for new projects is proposed for the next biennium.
