Audit of education grant and dependency allowance

Women are entitled to maternity insurance, which includes a hospitalization grant, a maternity grant, a birth allowance and a maternity leave allowance.

The Board reviewed how the ICSC secretariat set three of their allowances mobility and hardship allowance, daily subsistence allowance and education grant.

Unlike the daily subsistence allowance which was a subsistence allowance for business travellers, mission subsistence allowance represented the total contribution of the Organization towards the living expenses of mission staff it was paid in lieu of post adjustment, mobility and hardship allowance and assignment grant.

Four priority procedures, namely, dependency benefits, education grant, rental subsidy and special post allowance, have been streamlined and automated.

Assesses the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls established for managing and administering education grant and dependency allowance entitlements.

Such staff receive the normal entitlements associated with the place of assignment, including post adjustment, mobility and hardship allowance and assignment grant, as well as a special operations living allowance (which is similar to mission subsistence allowance) at the non family duty station.

The state's family benefits are childbirth allowance, child allowance, child care allowance, single parent's child allowance, conscript's child allowance, school allowance, foster care allowance, start in independent life allowance, allowance for families with three or more children and families raising triplets, and adoption allowance.

Staff members recruited by the Department of Peacekeeping Operations for assignment to a non family mission receive only mission subsistence allowance (in lieu of post adjustment, assignment grant and mobility and hardship allowance), and the family remains in the home country.

In line with United Nations accounting standards, liabilities for end of service payments comprise end of service allowance, repatriation grant and compensation for accrued annual leave.

88. ICSC is responsible for the determination of rates of allowances for the dependency and language incentives for staff in the Professional category and above, mobility and hardship, education grant, home leave, daily subsistence allowance, repatriation grant and termination indemnity.

This comprised salaries of 1,701,716, travel expenses of 82,623, salaries of 750,663 on an ex gratia basis after deduction of the amounts paid by the national Governments, assignment grant of 38,835, special acting allowance of 5,348 and education grant of 6,243.

These benefits include housing allowance, transport allowance medical allowance and social security benefits.

226. These benefits include the family allowance and the nursing allowance, as well as the child care allowance and the care allowance.

The allowances and benefits in general available to internationally recruited staff members include payment of travel expenses upon initial appointment and on separation for themselves and their spouses and dependent children, removal of household effects, non resident's allowance, home leave, education grant and repatriation grant.

(e) Education allowance. With regard to the education allowance

Such cost factors include, for example, ICSC decisions on a variety of staff entitlements (e.g. dependency allowance, education grant), and changes in the average step of posts by grade level.

Grant this, Grant that.

The most important of them are the social insurance benefits for workers maternity leave and allowance, confinement allowance, child care leave and allowance, care leave and allowance.

10. The following entitlements are calculated by the system gross salary, staff assessment, dependency allowance, adjusted dependency allowance, post adjustment, hardship, mobility and non removal elements of the mobility and hardship allowance, pension contribution, language allowance, recruitment allowance, salary differential and non resident s allowance.

Recalling section I.E of its resolution 44 198, by which it introduced a mobility and hardship allowance with effect from 1 July 1990 and requested the International Civil Service Commission to report to the General Assembly at its forty seventh session on the operation of the allowance and the assignment grant,

386. The personnel of the Ministry of Education enjoy specific benefits (teaching allowance, training allowance, allowance for teaching in rural areas, etc.).

The general family allowance, the special child allowance and the multiple birth allowance are payable automatically without application, but application must be made for ordinary and extra child allowances and adoption allowance.
