In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to the Labour Law provisions, the lowest salary is determined by collective contracts and labour regulations.

Recently adopted legislation included the new Labour Law, the Law on Labour Protection, a number of regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers on employment and labour protection and the Administrative Procedure Law.

The Regulations on supervision of labour safeguards of the State Council, which came into effect on 1 December 2004, provide for an enhanced labour supervisory regimen to eliminate the phenomenon of child labour.

Supervision of regulations for protection and security at work is made by labour protection inspection authorities.

The Committee welcomes the promulgation by the State Council of Rules on Supervision of Labour Security and its amended Regulations on Collective Contracts and Regulations on Minimum Wages.

1.1.4 The Labour Code (Order No. 96 039 of 29 June 1990) and the related regulations and convention

According to the Labour Law, article 68, salaries of employees are defined by collective contract, labour regulations and work contracts as such, each salary is unique for a position, held by either men or women.

Thus, the enactments of the Niger, in particular the Labour Code and the General Civil Service Regulations, guarantee everyone the right to employment.

If it is employment, then all employees will have the same rights defined for working relations, and labour regulations and work contracts will define the salary levels in such case.

The Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs introduced, on 12 March 2003, Circular 07 2003 TTBLDTBXH providing guidelines on the implementation of some revised articles to the Social Insurance Regulations.

Since 2001, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security has united the relevant departments in annual nationwide campaigns to check on compliance with the Regulations prohibiting child labour. Proper understanding of the conditions prevailing in the various regions, and a rigorous analysis of the problems remaining in prohibiting child labour as well as the various contributing factors, permit measures to be drawn up to address them.

Current Bosnia and Herzegovina legislation on protection of employment, as well as regulations on work contracts, are largely comparable, and to some point even more liberal, than labour markets in Slovenia or in other developed economies.

Laws and regulations had been amended to incorporate a gender perspective they included the law on land ownership, the law on marriage and the family, labour law and the law on the land use transfer tax.

In this regard, the Committee asked the Government to provide information on the measures taken or planned to ensure that the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare effectively enforces the regulations respecting equal remuneration, and the provisions of the Convention.
