The employer bound by a collective contract has to determine in its labour rules, developed in coordination with the union, the lowest salary, which cannot be lower than the lowest salary determined by the branch union.

The union is concerned with the betterment of labour's legal interests through law, primarily the Labour Law, as well as monitoring the privatization process.

As in the framework of the new demographic data the economically active population of the European Union is continually shrinking, it has become evident that, if the European Union wishes to remain competitive, it must utilize fully the totality of its labour force implementing policies to facilitate, in particular, groups which face difficulties in their integration to the labour market.

Mass organizations, particularly the Women's Union, Fatherland Front and Labour Union, have shown strength in informing, educating and communicating with the people on gender equality, on building a cultured life, and building families of prosperity, equality, progressiveness and happiness .

The European Union attached great weight to social cohesion as well as to economic growth and improving labour markets, that had been made clear in the Lisbon goals.

Business and trade union organizations continue to cooperate on sustainable development issues in such international agencies as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the International Labour Organization, the United Nations Environment Programme and the World Health Organization.
