This Commission is required to propose arrangements for consulting indigenous peoples whenever legislative and administrative measures that are likely to affect them are to be considered.

The biennial financial implications of the above recommendation for the United Nations proposed programme budget for the biennium 2006 2007 have been estimated at 975,300.

The treatment of refugee children was part and parcel of an inter agency endeavour agreed on at that Summit.

The Committee considered the above issues favourably and expressed support for meeting the needs of the persons with disabilities involved in the elaboration of the draft convention.

(c) The means and ideas to ensure the sustainability of the above initiative, which is being proposed to be effected by the year 2002, need further exploration
