Seminars and symposia

UNMIS is holding a set of round table discussions for civil society in Khartoum and Juba on the human rights provisions of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.

Nation wide seminars were being held to publicize the Declaration and Platform, particularly among women at the grass roots level.

The second panel will be devoted to the theme of the social impact of globalization and will have as its topic poverty eradication.

For the past 12 years, we have been engaged in discussions about changes to the Security Council.

At the seminar, the Monitoring Group played an active role in the discussions and was a member of one of the panels of discussions.

The decision will be transmitted to the Committee plenary, which may confirm it and adopt it without further discussion.

The results of the contact group meetings were reported in plenary.

A resumed afternoon plenary was devoted to reporting on the discussions at the round tables and to further debate.

I fail to see how discussions on improving security in space, or discussions on dealing with the subject of nuclear disarmament, could threaten anyone's security interests.

The proceedings of the symposium will be published in the IISL proceedings of the Vancouver colloquium.

A panel discussion was arranged on the School for International Training campus to discuss this Conference.

The outcome of the joint workshop would be a draft report proposing a number of technical safety standards for discussion at the Committee's June 2006 session.
