A total of 1,250 trainees, including 452 women and 448 boarding students, were accommodated in 16 trade course and 12 technical semi professional training courses at Amman Training Centre and Wadi Seer Training Centre during the reporting period.

Six months after the end of this course, the UNCTAD secretariat requested the 25 participants from various countries in Africa (selected from over 50 applicants) and their respective supervisors in the ministries to respond to an evaluation to gauge the impact of this course on their professional development and value added to their tasks in the ministries.

In all, 76 candidate inspectors will follow the programme.

5. The training course was attended by 25 participants, 12 of whom were from Gabon.

Twenty thousand local law enforcement officials have already been trained through this four to five day programme, which also allows for the participation of child protection officers and prosecutors.

As in the case of the training course in Fiji, participation in the forthcoming training courses would be open to the technical staff of the developing States of the specific region.

Four military courses took place each year in 1992 and 1993, and five courses in 1994 and 1995 in the English, French and Spanish languages, with a global participation of 577 senior officers from 113 countries.
