Pakistan ratified CEDAW on 12 April 1996. A compliance report was due within a year's time but somehow it could not be produced alongwith subsequent two periodic reports.

At the same meeting, the Working Party authorized the Vice Chairperson cum Rapporteur to finalize the report on its session.
