The EU intended to continue supporting those three projects.

A proposal from the Commission of the European Union for a new directive is currently under discussion by the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament.

65. In November 1995, the Project Advisory Board held a meeting which evaluated the project and discussed future trends of cooperation between the European Community ESA and ASEAN.

The assistance mission, conducted jointly with the European Union, was aimed at completing the third phase of the project to enhance the AU information and crisis management capacity.

At present, plans are being formulated with the Luxembourg presidency of the European Union Council to jointly organize journalist tours to European Union and United Nations projects in developing countries.

In addition, a technical assistance project was prepared under the European Union s PHARE programme in 1995.

They include the eight special recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force the recommendations of the EU experts in the framework of the Twinning Project , which ended in 2004 (EU PHARE Project Suppression of Money Laundering ) the expertise of competent authorities of other states (USA, for instance).

The project donors include the European Commission, Finland, Germany, Japan, Norway and Sweden.

The European Union, Japan, the Netherlands, the Nordic countries and the United States have all provided substantial funding for many of the projects mentioned earlier.

This will be a strategy of the whole European Union the Union, its institutions and the member States.

The European Phare New Synthetic Drugs and Precursors Control Project and the Phare twinning projects, as well as precursor projects of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), a specific EU technical assistance project for the Andean Community and Project Prism were also cited in this regard.

In 2005, UNIDIR will begin a project supported by the Marie Curie Intra European Fellowship programme of the European Commission to study EU and United Nations planning for crisis management and peacebuilding.

I am pleased to note that some development partners are increasingly interested in security sector reform, especially the European Union, which has requested ECOWAS to submit projects that EU could help to finance in this area.

It had also supported projects in Cambodia (around 3.3 million), Latin America and the Caribbean ( 345,000) and Albania ( 550,000).

This station is to be set up within the framework of the GLOVE project, which is co financed by the European Union.

Following this first contact, a project was studied and presented to the European Commission in 2003.

45. With funding from the European Union, a number of projects using ERS 1 data were undertaken in 1994.

The Union therefore provides support for a wide range of projects and programmes in those fields throughout the world.

Though the fund will not be operational until mid 2015, EU member countries have already proposed projects for the European Commission s consideration. By early December, all 28 EU governments had submitted applications and they are still coming.

With regard to programme 13, the European Union had made it clear that it regarded the fight against drugs as a major priority of its internal and international action.

The Central and Eastern European countries and Cyprus associated with the European Union and the European Free Trade Association country Iceland, member of the European Economic Area, align themselves with this statement.

The training programme of the European Community ESA ASEAN project was therefore structured into a series of layers, each targeted at a different audience
