This is the head prosecutor for the International Criminal Court

Public Prosecutor In every district in Pakistan, prosecution of criminal cases is conducted by the State through a Public Prosecutor (P.P.).

In November 2004, the Office of the Prosecutor hosted a successful colloquium of prosecutors of international criminal tribunals.

I have little experience in criminal cases and I shall be at a disadvantage with a skillful prosecutor.

Yugoslav law obliges the public prosecutor to act when it is probable that a criminal offence has been committed.

On 27 April 2005, the court ruled that the prosecutor either had to bring criminal charges or drop the case.

Both civil and criminal cases were first dealt with by the investigator apos s office and then by the prosecutor.

A career structure should also be established for the Office of the Public Prosecutor and the Public Criminal Defence Service.

At this meeting, the Council will hear briefings by the President and the Prosecutor of the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, and the President and Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.

The referral by the Security Council this spring of the situation in Darfur to the International Criminal Court's Prosecutor and the opening of an investigation into that situation by the Prosecutor were other important milestones.

At this meeting, the Security Council will hear a briefing by Mr. Luis Moreno Ocampo, Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.

On 6 May 2004, the Prosecutor formally charged Mr. Marynich with a violation of article 295 (2) of the Criminal Code.

I listened attentively to the presentations made earlier by Judge Pocar and Prosecutor Del Ponte, and President Møse and Prosecutor Jallow, on the work of the ICTY and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), respectively.

12. In certain conditions, both the public prosecutor and the court have the right to drop the criminal charges raised against juveniles.

Pre trial proceedings were conducted in seven cases involving ten accused The Prosecutor v. Bikindi, The Prosecutor v. Karemera, Ngirumpatse and Nzirorera, The Prosecutor v. Kabuga, The Prosecutor v. Karera, The Prosecutor v. Hategekimana and Nizeyimana, The Prosecutor v. Rukundo and The Prosecutor v. Zigiranyirazo.

Since no formal criminal proceedings followed as a result of his complaint with the Public Prosecutor, the first avenue remained closed to him.

Women could be forced to undergo the tests only as part of a criminal investigation, on the instructions of a judge or prosecutor.

The report submitted by the President of the International Criminal Court refers to the situations that are currently being investigated by the Prosecutor.

The members of the Council and Luis Moreno Ocampo, Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, had an exchange of views after the briefing.

Noting also that with the election of the judges and the Prosecutor and the appointment of the Registrar, the International Criminal Court is fully constituted,

Under this reform, the inquisitorial system should be replaced by an accusatorial system, in which the Public Prosecutor will have sole control of criminal proceedings.

Criminal charges, as warranted, should be brought by the state prosecutor and cases brought swiftly to trial, which should be held in regular, open session.
