One session in two parts per year

The Meeting was organized in two sessions.

One session every two years after the Convention comes into force

During the period under review, the Tribunal held two sessions.

One session would be of two weeks' duration and the other of one week's duration, in order to facilitate the consideration of reports by the Committee.

It would be helpful to plan a specific duration for the discussion of each item, for instance one or two sessions.

8. The officers elected at the forty fourth session for a term of two years continued to serve at the forty sixth and forty seventh sessions. They are as follows

a One two week session of the subsidiary bodies and one two week session of the Conference of the Parties, of the Conference of the Parties serving as meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol and of the subsidiary bodies.

These Parties will need to be financed for two sessional periods of two weeks each, one of which will include a week long meeting of the COP (see FCCC SBI 1997 6).

The Working Group devoted four two week sessions to the work on the project.The eighteenth session was held at Vienna from 30 October to 10 November 1995 (A CN.9 419 and Corr.1) the nineteenth session was held in New York from 1 to 12 April 1996 (A CN.9 422) the twentieth session was held at Vienna from 7 to 18 October 1996 (A CN.9 433) and the twenty first session was held in New York from 20 to 31 January 1997 (A CN.9 435).

1. At the opening meeting of its nineteenth session, the Committee on Information decided to hold its nineteenth session in two segments.

Both sessions were held at the United Nations Office at Geneva. The agenda for each session is shown in annex III to the present report.

At its thirty ninth session, the Commission decided to consider this item on a biennial basis.

The representative of Japan, expressing an objection to the holding of two sessions of two weeks apos duration each next year, called for improvement of the working method of the working group by better utilization of time at the next session.
