7. In pursuance of part (b) of the mandate contained in the above mentioned resolution, the Commission and the Economic and Social Council has entrusted to the Sub Commission a number of more specific mandates which form the basis of its agenda.

6. Calls upon the Sub Commission, in the fulfilment of its functions and duties, to observe the resolutions and decisions of the Commission and the Economic and Social Council regarding its work

I am confident that the members of next year apos s Council will be up to the task.

Moreover, the peacekeeping scale must reflect the responsibilities of the permanent members of the Security Council.

The Council subsequently adopted a series of measures designed to provide further support to the Commission in carrying out its roles and its mandates.

The members of the Management Performance Board will be appointed by the Secretary General for a two year term, which may be renewable.
