In order to coordinate practical measures on strengthening the CSTO potential to fight terrorism and violent manifestations of extremism the CSTO Secretariat regularly holds meetings of heads of antiterrorist departments of the security services and of the ministries of the interior of the CSTO member states.

It is our task to prevent this to ensure that globalization leads to progress, prosperity and security for all.

At a time when the United Nations continues to face a security environment of unprecedented risk, I thank Member States for supporting our efforts to improve the overall security environment, as well as our security management system under the leadership of the new Department of Safety and Security.

The overarching aim of the United Nations security management system, under the leadership of the Department of Safety and Security, is to enable the safe delivery by the Secretariat, as well as by United Nations agencies, funds and programmes, of mandated activities in the field.

Poland fully embraces the concept of collective security.

Security Council reform has no alternative but to focus on creating the best collective security system possible.

The CSTO firmly supports the leading role of the United Nations in mobilizing the efforts of the international community to counter this evil.

New heads of the security services have been appointed and the security retirement law is being implemented.

Such position of the CSTO member states is reflected in article 8 of the Charter of the Organization as well as in the Priority areas of the CSTO activity in 2004 2005 approved by the Council of Collective Security.
